*An adjunct is an adverbial sentence element. It is always extranuclear, i.e., it can be removed and a grammatically well-formed sentence remains. Though an MPD is an unexpected adverbial element in human physiology, and though it cannot be removed, regardless, a well-formed human psyche can remain intact even with its presence.
